P-Toulene Salfonic Acid
Application:
p-toluenesulfonic acid is widely used in the synthesis of medicine, pesticides, polymerization stabilizers, catalysts for organic synthesis (esters, etc.), coatings intermediates and resin curing agents. It is a commonly used acid catalyst for organic synthesis. Sodium p-toluenesulfonate Chemicalbook was prepared by neutralizing it with sodium hydroxide, and then reacting with phosphorus pentachloride, p-toluenesulfonyl chloride could be prepared. The latter is used in nucleophilic substitution reactions and as a protective group for alcohol hydroxyl groups. The use of p-toluenesulfonic acid is also to catalyze the dihydrofuran protection group on alcohol, carboxylic acid esterification, transesterification reaction, aldehyde to acetal and so on.
